Do you think I'm talking to you?
Guilty conscience?
As I watch our country keep tanking into more and more debt, the only way I can rationalize people not FREAKING OUT about it, is that they just don't get it.
The majority of Americans don't live within their means. I see it repeatedly every single day of my life. And most people think they're special; if I just understood what they are going through, then I would understand that they need to have debt.
It always comes back to bite the individual and it is biting our country back at this very moment.
But if I hear one more person complain about "times being hard" as they surf their smartphone (just one example of many hypocrisies I've witnessed), I might punch them because oh my gosh, stop being so stupid.
Every
little
bit
counts.
Do something for yourself in 2013: get out of denial.

Love this!!! Wish I could have shouted this to the rooftops yesterday as thousands of people walked by my house on their way to inauguration....
Ugh! Sorry you had to witness that!
I had the same soapbox this weekend! I have a neighbor who receives government assistance and other neighbors are always trying to help her out because she really does struggle...
But this weekend I was outside painting and watched a bottled water delivery guy rounding the neighborhood, and when he stopped at her house she purchased a subscription "because it's only $9 a month +$6 per bottle!"
Gah! It's free out of the tap and you can't afford it!
It doesn't take an income overhaul to get you on your feet, it just takes cutting back the things that aren't really necessary... and then you realize how much you really do have.
I think this is a Dave Ramsey sort of saying, but it's something like: poor people ask how much per month, rich people as how much.
