Small Space Bathroom Details

Our home is not super huge, but I think it effectively uses the space that it is allotted. Our downstairs bathroom doubles as the master bath and the guest bath. So it has doors on either side... one entry from our room and another from the hall, with a sliding pocket-door between the shower and toilet portions of the room.

Here's a before shot (from when I was preggers with #4).
Before, it was a brown mess. Tons of brown cabinets. Aqua walls (which was actually my first attempt at hiding what it was when we moved there-- bright yellow! No joke-- when you looked in the mirror, it looked like you were about to vomit!) and cheap flooring.

That's the only BEFORE image I could find. Here's the afters!
I decided on white. I am a person who LOVES color, but this space is SO small, I really don't feel like it can handle it. I add color with accents.

I found old locker baskets and sprayed them to match the hardware. I lined this basket so that certain items can be close to the toilet, but not always observed. Then again, if you have a guest who needs extra assistance, they don't have to snoop far!
Another necessary... hidden toddler wipes :)
The toilet paper is right above the toilet. I'm not sure what this basket was used for, but it is another thrift find, spray painted. It seemed like something from a farm when I found it?
 A pull-back:
 Shower curtain? Target. Easy.
Little touches like spraying a lid to match the hardware really is a nice finishing touch.
I still need to spay that knob! Look down...
A fish-eye look so you can see the whole thing:

There is another basket near the vanity. There are certain items that you use so regularly that it is annoying to store them in a cabinet. I just like them on hand. I could have lined this one, but I like to see...
The sink, we picked up at the ReStore for like $50. There used to be a hunk of cabinets here, but without storing TP there, there's no reason to have it! It was just wasted space that made the bathroom seem smaller.

The tile? Lowes. The vanity is from there too. It came with the marble top. So easy! We re-painted the hardware on the doors and the heat vent so that it all matched...
The mirror used to be a wall-covering contractor-special. It was ugly. I think this one was Home Depot? Easy. Not the fanciest or unique, but it's what I wanted!

Also, where the vanity was, there was double the cabinets, but the space was so large, it was wasted. These cupboards and drawers are not full. And it makes the space seem SO much bigger! Sometimes, downsizing is a good thing! Storage space is really not useful unless it's efficient.

I think that for all the bits, it was around $1000. We did all the work (when I say we, I mean mostly the Milk Man, some help from my dad, and very little from me) ourselves. And it's like a whole new room. I love it!
